Distributor’s Guide

Thank you for supporting Extreme Packaging Machinery. This distributor guide is a quick reference tool to assist you in determining the proper machinery to fit your customer’s needs.

The purpose of this pricing guide is to assist our distributors with understanding the product line. We encourage you to call our office for additional assistance. Submitting a RFQ will assist us in providing a quote, which guarantees performance and pricing. Our website, www.extremepkg.com, is also a useful tool. There you will find company and product information, downloadable brochures, videos and line layouts.

When you come across a project we encourage you the call us for sales and technical assistance. When requiring a formal quotation it is best to fill out the Data Survey as completely as possible and submit it to us along with any customer samples and important information. We will help evaluate the application and provide a formal quotation, line layouts and a video of the customer’s samples or similar product in order to assist you in your presentation. We can also set up a customer demonstration at our factory in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Heavy Duty Welded Frame Construction
2” x 4” x 1⁄4” thick steel tubing for the well built rigid platform required for high speed, continuous use and the harshest environments.

Direct Drive traveling belt side seal belt, film unwind and selvage winder. This eliminates chains, sprockets, tensioning devices or need for lubrication at these points, providing the user with no maintenance in these areas.

Cross Seal rides on up to (4) 1” diameter linear bearing shafts for extra stability and longevity at high speeds.

Allen / Bradley Kinetix Drives and Servo Motors share a buss bar for lower power consumption and tunable product sealing.

All Extreme Infeeds plug directly to the PLC for quick interchangeability from flighted to belted conveyors.

The Extreme NextGen Side Sealer developed to address the deficiencies found in the side sealers that presently are being offered in the market. The main goal was to develop a unit that eliminates all the guesswork associated with producing strong reliable seals on a consistent basis. This required a design that can be turned on Monday morning and would still be running the next Monday morning without interruption or adjustment. The new “Extreme NextGen Side Sealer” has met and exceeds that goal.

Efficient film usage is due to the direct film delivery path and side seal design. The film path goes directly to inverter blades and does not pass under the infeed conveyor belt frame as found on many wrappers. Typical savings is 2-4” of film width times the length of the package. Side seal will run polyolefin, polyethylene and PVC films.

Product carrying belts are spliced for easy removal and replacement.

Double Powder Coat Finish and Stainless Steel Top Plates for extra abuse resistance.

All Extreme models are built on a modular platform that allows our customers to build the machine that will satisfy their individual needs without the expense of purchasing a “custom built” system. STANDARD INFEEDS

Matching the customer’s product to the proper infeed is the most important decision to ensure a seamless integration of the system. Extreme offers a large selection of standard infeeds and also specializes in custom built infeeds that takes the guess work out of the equation.

B-Belt to Belt

Belt to Belt Infeed easily integrates into existing conveyor lines for seamless operation. This infeed automatically creates product separation and indexes product directly into the wrapper, making the wrapper an on demand system which creates no empty bags.


DC- Dual Chain

9’ Dual Chain Infeed has wide, flat pushers that provide a square surface to advance products into the film. Length allows ample space for hand feeding or fitting a variety of automated feeders. Wide pushers provide more product control and are capable of pushing multi-packs. Available up to 50’ long.


FB- Flighted Bar

9’ Flighted Bar Infeed has a wide pusher surface that is ideal for multi-packs and odd shaped products. Length allows ample space for hand feeding or fitting a variety of automated feeders. Wide pushers provide more product control while advancing into the film. Available up to 18’ long.


F- Flighted Pin

9’ Flight Pin Infeed has 5/16 diameter flight pins to advance products into the film. Length allows ample space for hand feeding or fitting a variety of automated feeders. Available up to 50’ long.


GDC- Gated Dual Chain

Gated Dual Chain Infeed receives product from a low back pressure conveyor and automatically indexes product onto the dual chain pushers. This highly versatile system can be fitted to run single and multi-pack products.


CBB- Compression Belt to Belt Servo

Compression Belt to Belt Servo Infeed consists of a Servo compression belt that controls back pressure and precisely indexes product to the Servo Nose Belts which in turn advance the product into the film web. Capable of speeds up to 150 PPM.


CBB-CLT Compression Belt to Belt Clutched

Compression Belt to Belt Clutched Infeed consists of a clutched compression belt that controls back pressure and precisely indexes product to the AC Drive Nose Belts which in turn advance the product into the film web. Capable of speeds up to 100 PPM.


CBF- Compression Belt to Flight Servo

Compression Belt to Flight Servo Infeed consists of Servo Compression belt that controls back pressure from low back pressure conveyor and accurately releases product to flights. The Servo Controlled flights follow the cross seal movement to properly place


SBF- Servo Belt to Flight

Servo Belt to Flight Infeed consists of Servo conveyor that accurately releases product to flights. The Servo Controlled flights follow the cross seal movement to properly place the product into the film web. This infeed is ideal for products that can not tolerate compression. Capable of speeds up to 175 PPM.


BBS- Belt to Belt Servo

Belt to Belt Servo Infeed easily integrates into existing conveyor lines for seamless operation. This infeed automatically creates product separation and indexes product directly into the wrapper, making the wrapper an on demand system which creates no empty bags. Capable of speeds up to 100 PPM.


SB- Slip Torque to Belt

Slip Torque to Belt Infeed is fitted with a variety of devices to assist in indexing unique or hard to handle product configurations.


NT- No Touch

No Touch Floating Belt Accumulation Conveyor Stainless Steel- Washdown with NEMA 4X Electrical. Equipped with three servo drives and works with the speed modulation programming. This system monitors and receives incoming products from the customer’s product carrying conveyor; products which are received randomly accumulate without contacting prior or following products. These products advance to the SBF Infeed.


ASB- Accumulating Servo Belt

Accumulating Servo Belt with 2 Meter Slip Torque Stainless Steel- Washdown with NEMA 4X Electrical. This system monitors and receives incoming products from the customer’s conveyor; products can be received randomly. Products accumulate back to back on the low back pressure slip torque conveyor and advanced to the accumulating servo belt. Includes drip pan and scraper. These products normally advance to an SBF Infeed.


MBS-4 MultiBelt Servo

Washdown/ Multi-Belt 4 Axis Servo Infeed System This stainless steel washdown infeed integrates directly to the PLC and motion controls of the Extreme wrapper. It is ideal for high speeds and for products that do not accumulate well or should not touch each other. This system can receive products in a steady or random flow. The servo multi-belts make minor corrections to the product position prior to the wrapper indexing servo belt and servo flight pin infeed. The minor corrections present the products at the ideal spacing to phase to the wrapper infeed flight. The infeed flight inserts the product into the film web in sequence with the Extreme rotary cross seal. This system ties into the Speed Modulation Program, where a sensor is placed upstream on the incoming conveyor to monitor the rate of product flow. Based on this information the wrapper will increase or decrease its speed in order to minimize frequent stops and starts.

EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. warrants to the original Buyer that, except as to expendable items such as elements, tapes, seal pads, fuses, Teflon coatings, air cylinders etc., all equipment and parts manufactured by EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. shall be free from defects in material of workmanship for a period of one year (1) from the date of shipment (the “warranty period”). The extent of EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. liability under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of any such defective part at no charge to the Buyer, except for the costs of freight and installation which shall be borne by Buyer and provided that Buyer shall, if EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. so requests, return any such defective part to EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. freight prepaid, for inspection and determination by EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. as to the nature of the defect. The defective parts must be returned to EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. within 30 days of the reported defect Notwithstanding the foregoing, EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. shall be relieved of all liability and obligations under the warranty set forth herein if:

a. The equipment is used, operated or maintained in any manner other than in accordance with EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. instructions and recommended maintenance procedures as set forth in the operating manual, which shall be shipped with the equipment;

b. The equipment is misused, abused or neglected in any way;

c. The equipment is altered, modified or changed, or any additional part is installed, unless EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. shall have previously consented in writing to such alteration, modification, change or installation;

d. The equipment is operated with any additional accessory or part, whether or not EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. is the manufacturer thereof unless EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. shall have previously consented in writing to the operation of the equipment with such accessory or part; e. Any materials, packages or containers, which are to be conveyed and/or wrapped, are not in a condition to permit their being properly handled by the equipment;

f. The equipment is serviced or repaired by any persons not previously approved by EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. in writing or;

g. The Buyer fails to notify EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. in writing of any defect, breakdown, accident, or malfunction of the equipment within seven (7) days of the discovery of such defect or the occurrence of such breakdown, accident or malfunction.

THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS APPLICABLE SOLELY TO PARTS AND/OR EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURED BY EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. WITH RESPECT TO COMPONENT PARTS NOT MANUFACTURED BY EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. AND AS TO WHICH EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. IS THE BENEFICIARY OF ANY WARRANTY, BUYER SHALL HAVE, FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE OF SHIPMENT OF THE EQUIPMENT TO BUYER, WHATEVER RIGHTS AND REMEDIES, IF ANY, THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. WITH RESPECT TO SUCH WARRANTY, PROVIDED THAT BUYER SHALL FULLY REIMBURSE EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. FOR ALL COSTS OF ENFORCING SUCH WARRANTY. Except for the express warranty set forth above that the equipment shall be free of any defects in material or workmanship during the warranty period:

a. No affirmation of fact or promise by EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. with respect to the capacity, suitability, or performance of the equipment, whether or not such affirmation or promise is set forth herein, shall constitute any type of warranty as to the equipment, and;

b. THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Except as specified by EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. in writing, EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. does not warrant that the equipment, as manufactured, conforms to any particular insurance regulations or electrical codes or that the equipment contains any particular safety features. Buyer assumes full responsibility for the compliance with all applicable statutes, codes and regulations, whether federal, state or local. Under no circumstances shall EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. have any liability for any type of incidental or consequential damages arising from the use, loss of use or defective performance of the equipment. EXTREME PACKAGING MACHINERY, INC. liability is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts. The Limited Warranty extends only to the original buyer and is not transferable to subsequent owners, purchasers or possessors of the equipment.
